- Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.
- Identifies and fixing the causes of unexpected/urgent breakdowns of machines.
- Utilizing knowledge and skills to recognize opportunities for Improvements.
- Responsible for maintaining facilities and equipment in safe working condition, lubricating necessary parts, changing worn out or damaged parts.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance.
- Keep and maintain accurate daily log of activities.
- Respond appropriately to emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment to reduce manufacturing machine downtime.
- Inspect machinery and conduct preventative maintenance and repairs, based on a strong working knowledge of farm machinery and gasoline, diesel, and electrically powered motors to ensure farm equipment is safe and suitable for operations.
- Installs, repairs, maintains pumps, motors, blowers, conveyor systems, etc.
- Reads, interprets, and implements instructions from maps and drawings.
- Welding/pipe repair/gasket repair
- Utilizes hoists.
- Fabricates steel, metal, piping, etc.
- Installs flanges.
- Operates Broderson crane, electric pallet jack, forklift, truck, box truck, boom truck, dollies.
- Utilizes come-a-longs.
- Lifts/lowers/carries pipe.
- Utilizes vices and grinders.
- Removes plugs and caps underneath tank car.
- Ascends/descends platforms/ladders/steps/stairs/rail cars/scaffolding/towers.
- Repairs steam leaks
- Lifts/lowers/carries propane tank.
- Wears harness and respirator
- Conducts preventative maintenance checks.
- Performs repairs, installations and preventative maintenance duties during plant shutdowns.
- Check the condition of tank shell for leakage, test tank car coils with steam, and check inside and outside valves and all other necessary equipment to comply with FRA Regulations.
- Other duties as they may be assigned.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in Manufacturing setting as Industrial Mechanic.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Red Seal Certified Preferred.
- Must have own transportation.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $25.00-$38.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Abbotsford, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

- millwright: 1 year (preferred)
